Gallery - New Work

In recent time I have been experimenting with non-traditional materials used in quilterly ways. My auction quilts are in effect samples, and in August this year a new wor, "Landmarks" will appear in an invitational exhibition in Boulder Colorado.  These new works include small mixed media pieces mounted on painted stretched artist canvases.

The 12" squares I have made for the annual SAQA online auctions also come into this category though I have sent them with a hanging sleeve, leaving any mounting or framing decision to each buyer.  I personally favour the stretched canvas - and a collection of them look lovely grouped together.  The 2016 piece sold for $350, and the 2017 auction will start Septembber 15th this year. Details are occasionally posted on my blog and on Facebook, or visit http://www.saqa.com/auction-quilts.php for the latest updates on this year's auction.

Materials include leather, mock patent leather vinyl, nylon organza, and techniques may include tearing, machine sewing, machine or hand quilting, bonding, burning, hand or machine surface stitch.
